“Smacked bottom” sounds like a good name for a drink. Maybe it already is?
That song is the bane of the existence of anyone who works in the service industry, especially retail. You can hear the looped music better while it makes you go slowly spin into a spiral of insanity.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

The only cure for a ride through middle seat economy hell is a drink afterward. One before helps, too. And one, or three, during.
If you have any friends who gag when they hear the word “tequila”, make them one of these. They’re absolutely delicious and completely underrated. The best part is they’re simple drinks that are gorgeous and tasty. Here’s my recipe:
1.5 oz Tequila
Orange juice
Grenadine
Pour the tequila (doesn’t matter which kind you use, though I prefer either Cazadores or Hacienda de Chihuahua Sotol reposado) over ice in a tall glass (a Collins glass works well). Fill the rest of glass with orange juice, and drizzle grenadine over the top. Garnish with an orange and a cherry.
You don’t need much. It’ll sink to the bottom and form this beautiful red layer, like sunrise. Some people stir their tequila sunrises, but I don’t. I think it works out better without stirring. Seriously, this is a solid all-around drink that’s worth your time to try. I’m a big fan.
