So, I’ve decided to move all future holiday/special event comics to the blog, as opposed to being in the main storyline comic section for a number of obvious reasons.
Having said that, Happy Thanksgiving, comrades! For this year’s drawing, I ripped off took inspiration from Norman Rockwell’s classic piece. I’m definitely no Rockwell (or anywhere close), but I think the drawing turned out nicely. Nicely enough that I can go to sleep soundly tonight. Or maybe that’s the tryptophan? Who knows? Anyways…
Also, it’s the first time I’ve tried to work more in-depth with digital paint and effects, and it’s been rough. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it and find a happy medium eventually, but until then, it’s gonna be a bumpy road. I’ll do my best to make it alright for y’all.
And that brings me to my final point. During this season of thanksgiving, among the many things I’m thankful for this year, y’all are right at the top. All of y’all. Every single one of you who’s read the comic and shared it and helped it grow. It’s been a slow process, but we’re getting there, and I have y’all to thank for it.
Anyways, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, everyone, from myself and this sweet, dysfunctional little “Observations in Retail” family to yours.
Love,
The Retail Explorer
