When the Lights Go Down

When the Lights Go Down

Endings are always bittersweet.

No matter how shit things were before, there’s always a little bit of you that feels sad to be leaving. It’s an odd sensation. It was for me. I can remember my last days in my past four jobs, and each had this interesting feeling of finality. The closure has been good, as was the fact that I went out on my own terms, making decisions that were best for me. And when it all goes south, that feeling always comes around. Always.

How about you? Have you experienced this odd feeling when leaving a job for the last time?

  1. Went through this a couple of years ago after 25 years. And what kept me there for 25 years? The people I worked with. Prior to getting there, I had a history of job-hopping and though I would only be there a couple of years before I found another job. LOL.
